The Perpetrators
The Bombers: Two ethnic Chechen brothers, Tamerlan Tsarnaev (26) and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (19), who were self-radicalized by extremist online materials.
The Manhunt: After the FBI released surveillance images of the suspects on April 18, 2013, the brothers killed an MIT police officer, hijacked a vehicle, and engaged in a violent shootout with police in Watertown, Massachusetts.
